GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR CANDLE

The First Burn

Arguably the most essential burn. Trim the wick to 1/4" before lighting. Make sure the melt pool reaches the edges. If extinguished too soon, tunneling will occur.

The Remaining Burns

Trim the wick to 1/4" and remove any carbon buildup. Make sure the melt pool reaches the edges with each lighting. Do not burn the candle for more than four hours at a time.

Candle Cleanup

Once there is 1/4" of wax remaining, extinguish the flame and let the wax cool.
Pour very hot water over wax (at least 140 degrees F). Once cool, remove wax and pull off wick with a wooden utensil. It may take a couple of attempts to remove all of the wax from the bottom.

Wicks are attached to glass for safety reasons, therefore making them stubborn to remove. If you have issues with the wick, place the jar in the freezer for several hours. Loosen the wick with hot water, and once cool, remove the wick with a wooden utensil.
